Winners Announced in Nigeria's National Quran Competition

IQNA – The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has revealed the winners of the national Quran competition recently held in Kebbi State.

In a statement on Thursday, NSCIA Secretary-General Is-haq Oloyede explained that the competition, featuring six categories, was organized by the Centre for Islamic Studies at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, on behalf of the entire Nigerian Muslim community.

According to the results released by NSCIA in Abuja, Rumaisa’u Dahir Ibrahim from Gombe State secured first place in the female category for memorizing the entire Quran with Tafsir and Qira’at, while Bukhari Sunusi Idris from Kano State won in the male category, The Sun reported on Thursday.

In the category of memorizing the whole Quran with Tafsir, Khadijah Aliyu Ubam from Nasarawa State emerged first among females, and Bilal Hamza Abubakar from Zamfara State topped the male category.

For the memorization of 60 Hizbs of the Quran, Khadija Ibrahim Aliyu from Kaduna State and Abdussalam Rabiu from Katsina State claimed first place in the female and male categories, respectively.

Aishatu Suleiman Isgogo from Kebbi State and Lawal Jafar from Sokoto State won the female and male categories for memorizing 30 Hizbs of the Quran.

Sumayyah Umar Sheik from Niger State and Mahmud Bashar from Jigawa State emerged winners in the female and male categories for memorizing 10 Hizbs of the Quran & Tangheem.

In the memorization of two consecutive Hizbs, Fatima Bello Abdullahi from Cross River State and Mohammed Sani Hassan from Ebonyi State were the winners in the female and male categories.

NSCIA also announced first and second runners-up in all six categories and confirmed the winners' eligibility to represent Nigeria in international competitions.

The Council expressed gratitude to all participants and donors, praying for Allah's blessings upon them. They also emphasized the expectation that the winners will continue to be ambassadors of Islam and the Muslim community in both learning and character.
