Over 300 Artworks Displayed at Imam Ali Shrine's Int’l Islamic Arts Exhibition

IQNA – An international exhibition at the Imam Ali (AS) shrine in Najaf is showcasing over 300 artworks on the occasion of the imam’s birthday.

 

According to Hossein Rahimi, the head of the Islamic Culture Department at the shrine, the international exhibition features more than 300 pieces, including paintings, calligraphy, Islamic decorations, artistic patterns, and miniatures.

Another section is dedicated to artworks depicting the life of Imam Ali (AS) from birth to martyrdom.

Rahimi highlighted the exhibition's international dimension, which adds unique diversity and distinction. "This event witnesses the participation of several international artists from Lebanon, Iran, Pakistan, and Iraq," he stated, as reported by the shrine’s website.

The cultural official noted that the exhibition has been well-received by visitors who interacted with the artworks and appreciated the creativity reflecting Islamic heritage and Imam Ali's (AS) legacy.

The exhibition is open daily from 8 AM to 1 PM, providing an opportunity for all visitors to benefit from its cultural and artistic content, Rahimi added.

Shia Muslims and others celebrate the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (AS) on the 13th day of the lunar month of Rajab.

Imam Ali (AS) was Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) highly revered son-in-law and cousin as well as the first Imam in Shia Islam.

The Imam is respected for his courage, knowledge, belief, honesty, unbending devotion to Islam, deep loyalty to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), equal treatment of all Muslims and generosity in forgiving his defeated enemies.
