Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalili wrote in a post on X on Tuesday that following Trump’s threat, fires broke out in many parts of his land, Arabi21 website reported.
These wildfires occurred in the winter under cold weather conditions and were not limited to forests, he noted, adding that they also affected major cities in the country, where advanced equipment and facilities are available for disaster prevention.
“This is the work of Almighty God with anyone who is arrogant, conceited, and oppressive towards His servants! Have I delivered the message? O God, bear witness,” he wrote.
Sheikh Al Khalili further cited a part of Imam Ali’s (AS) statement in Nahj al-Balagha (Letter 53): “Beware of comparing yourself to Allah in His greatness or likening yourself to Him in His power, for Allah humiliates every claimant of power and disgraces every one who is haughty.”
Earlier this month, Trump said at a press conference that “all hell will break out” in the Middle East if Hamas does not release the remaining Israeli captives it holds by the time he takes office on January 20.
