IQNA – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman described the Gaza ceasefire agreement as a manifestation of the resolve, faith and resilience of the Palestinian enclave’s people.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei

Speaking at a press conference in Tehran on Monday, Esmail Baghaei said it was a victory for Palestinians and a significant development in the region.

The people of the region and beyond, on an international level, drew clear lessons from this transformation, he said.

If we considered victory based on the number of casualties and the scale of atrocities, then the Zionist regime would be the one that has emerged victorious and violating all international laws would be the regime’s achievement, he said.

But what actually took place was an all-out humiliating defeat for the Israeli regime, the spokesman underlined.

The decisive factor here was the resistance of the Palestinian people, a resistance that promises future victories in the region, Baghaei stated.

It was preserving the spirit of resistance in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank that forces the Zionists to accept the ceasefire, he said.
