IQNA – A Lebanese political analyst described the ceasefire in Gaza as a strategic success for the resistance and Palestine in a war in which the Palestinians emerged victorious.

Lebanese political analyst Mikhael Awaz

In an article for IQNA, Mikhael Awaz elaborated on different aspects of the ceasefire between Hamas and the Israeli regime that came into force on Sunday.

Following are excerpts from the article:

Should we think that the Gaza ceasefire is a diversion tactic, with Israel planning to attack Iran or launch a brutal offensive to annex the West Bank and the territories occupied in 1948, similar to the Lebanon ceasefire that led to targeting Syria? Regardless of the motivations and reasons behind it, and whatever planning has been done, the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip represents a qualitative and strategic move for Gaza, the resistance, and Palestine.

This ceasefire ushers the region and the Arab-Israeli-American conflict into a new era, impacting the future developments and events in Palestine, the Arab world, and the entire globe.

This signifies that Israel has entered a stage of historic defeat, indicating the decline and potential destruction of this regime. It will also carry away the hegemony of the Anglo-Saxons and the systems and governments established through colonialism as a result of World War I.

The victory in Gaza came after 16 months of the most intense battles, driven by the leadership, collaboration, and investment of the United States.

The Palestinian victory was achieved despite the full force and elements employed by the Israeli regime, the US, their allies, and some Arab and Islamic governments.

The war involved genocide, destruction and the use of banned international weapons. This victory confirms that time and the future belong to the people and the resistance, and the time for freedom has arrived.

The Israeli regime’s prime minister and other official had described the Gaza war a war of prestige and said if they fail in the war, Iraelwill have no place in the region, and now, through their complete surrender and acceptance of the terms of resistance and negotiation, they have acknowledged their defeat and admitted to not achieving any of the war’s objectives.

This ceasefire turned the issue of Palestine into the top issue for the people of the world. One should congratulate Gaza and the people of Palestine.

The victory in Gaza is proof that the time for liberation of Palestine, Arabs and the region has come and that resistance will be victorious despite the heavy prices it may have to pay.

We have stated and will repeat that what determines the outcomes of wars is the overall balance of power and the strategic environments of the conflict, not just tactical battles. We are confident that the situation favors the resistance and its axis, and that Gaza will always prevail, even if others doubt and fail to comprehend or describe the war.

Gaza has become a wonder in the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation and a symbol of resistance and resilience. It has revealed the legendary status of its fighters and deservedly achieved an unprecedented historical victory that will be solidified in the future.

The victory in Gaza compensates for the events that have occurred in the resistance and its failures. It is not just a lesson, but a series of lessons that we must recognize and refer to in order to understand the current realities and future events.

Israel was defeated because it lacked all elements of power, and its supporting forces were weak. In contrast, Gaza emerged victorious because it defended its national and patriotic rights, decided to fight for victory, and ultimately succeeded.
