Iraqi Interior Minister Stresses Ensuring Security during Mid-Shaaban Ceremonies in Karbala

IQNA – The Iraqi Minister of Interior emphasized preparations for meeting the security needs in Karbala during the Mid-Shaaban ceremonies.

Speaking in a press conference with the governor of Karbala and security commanders, Abdul Amir al-Shammari stated that the special security and service plan for ensuring security was discussed with the governorate of Karbala and security commanders. 

The plan was thoroughly reviewed with all details, and all the security forces’ needs for the safety of this pilgrimage were met, he stated.

Earlier, Nasif al-Khattabi, the Governor of Karbala, had announced that service, health, and security plans have been prepared for the ceremonies.

He said that there are no road blockages, traffic is flowing smoothly, and intelligence and security efforts are at a high level.

The Mid-Shaaban Eid, marking the birth anniversary of Imam Zaman (may God hasten his glad advent), falls on the 15th day of the lunar Hijri month of Shaaban.

Shia Muslims all over the world celebrate the auspicious occasion on February 14 this year.
