The DIHQA is annually organized in the UAE city during the holy month of Ramadan.
The organizing committee, which is affiliated to the Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, said this 2025 edition of the competition has been postponed, reflecting a commitment to developing the event and enhancing its standards to achieve its goals of serving the Quran with the highest quality.
It said the decision has been made within the framework of the strategic vision of the award, aiming to enhance participants’ experience and ensure a competitive environment that allows Quran memorizers to showcase their skills in the best possible way.
Ahmed Darwish Al-Muhairi, director general of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai International Quran Award, said the decision to delay the contest has been made after a thorough study, aiming to achieve further development in the execution mechanisms of the competitions, adhering to the highest international standards, and transforming the competition into a global model for motivating Quran memorizers.
He also stated that the reassessment of all technical and organizational aspects of the competition, including judging criteria, the registration process, and proposals presented by participants to ensure the creation of a competitive and stimulating environment for all competitors are among the objectives for postponing the contest.

The competition aims to establish new mechanisms that enhance participants’ performance, expand the scope of participation, and allow the maximum number of memorizers of the Book of God to compete in this great Quranic event, he went on to say.
