Hamas, Islamic Jihad Condemn Israeli Raid on Ofer Prison
Special Israeli prison units raided a section of Ofer Prison, west of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, and assaulted detainees, a Palestinian media office said Sunday.
“Prisoners were beaten and sprayed with gas,” it said in a statement.
The Islamic Jihad movement denounced the brutal assault saying it revealed the savage nature of the Israeli regime, Wafa news agency reported.
It reflects the reprehensible moral decline and crisis that this regime is experiencing, the movement said.
The Islamic Jihad also hailed the steadfastness and resilience of the Palestinian people that forced the occupying regime to agree to prisoner exchanges and shattered the facade of its supposed grandeur.
Hamas also issued a statement regarding the raid on the prison, saying such inhuman crimes are part of the genocidal war against the Palestinian nation.
It said such moves are aimed at restoring the shattered façade of the supposed grandeur of the Zionist regime.
Hamas also described reports about Israeli prison guards’ savagery against Palestinian prisoners as extremely worrying.

Also, the Palestinian Prisoner Club, headquartered in Ramallah, held the Israeli regime responsible for using all means to torture prisoners, humiliate them, and force them to wear T-shirts emblazoned with threatening phrases and symbols.
According to Palestinian human rights organizations, Israel is holding more than 10,000 Palestinians in its prisons.
