IQNA – A collection of Islamic relics and artefacts, including the Kaaba Kiswa, is being showcased at Bradford City Hall in a one-day exhibition.

Organizer Riyaz Maniar, from Dewsbury, described the exhibition as a rare opportunity, stating: "These artifacts and relics are important to the Muslim world, and even in Mecca and Medina, you can't get close up to these items."

He highlighted that some pieces originate from inside the Kaaba and the tomb of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), data-x-items that are typically inaccessible to the public.

The display, open to people of all faiths, runs from 11:00 to 18:00 GMT on Saturday and is free to attend.

The exhibition features the Kiswa, a 29ft (9m) silk cloth embroidered with 22-carat gold and silver Quranic inscriptions, which covers the Kaaba and is replaced annually during the Hajj pilgrimage.

Also included are Ottoman-era artifacts over 270 years old, the lock and key of the Kaaba, and a draping from Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) inner tomb.

According to Maniar, the Saudi Arabian authorities donated the items, adding, "In Medina, you can only see the external tomb through a grill. Many of these gold-threaded pieces take a year to complete."

Previously exhibited in Birmingham and Dewsbury, the display will move to Batley Town Hall in April. It is supported by the Council of Mosques, Bradford City Council, and restaurant Mr T’s.
