IQNA – An official with Iraq’s Nujaba Movement underlined the role that Sayed Hassan Nasrallah played in the development of resistance.

Speaking to Al-Mayadeen on Sunday, the day when when the funeral of the former secretary general of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement was held in Beirut, Sheikh Ali al-Assadi, a member of Nujaba’s political council, said Nasrallah was a father, a mentor, a thinker and a leader whose guidelines were the main factors leading to the development of resistance in all fields.

He said that with constant oversight of the resistance operations room, Nasrallah allowed the axis of resistance’s arms to act according to the field conditions.

The Islamic resistance of Iraq also got inspirations from the views of Nasrallah, he stated.

Al-Assadi said that Nasrallah made arrangements for the time of his absence to ensure that the path of resistance would continue uninterrupted.

He went on to sat hat the massive participation of people in Nasrallah’s funeral was testament to extensive public support for resistance and a clear message to the world.

The Camille Chamoun sports stadium on the outskirts of Beirut saw a massive presence of supporters of resistance gathering there Sunday for the funeral procession for former Nasrallah and another Hezbollah figure Sayed Hashem Safieddine.

Safieddine led Hezbollah for one week after Nasrallah’s death before he was also martyred in an Israeli attack in October.
