Int’l Quds Day Promoted Resistance Approach: Official
This is according to Brigadier General Ramazan Sharif, the head of the Intifada and Quds Central Headquarters, speaking at a meeting of the headquarters held in the Islamic Propaganda Coordination Council in Tehran on Tuesday.
He said that since the first time International Quds Day was observed four decades ago, the resistance front has grown stronger constantly.
Every year on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, worldwide rallies are held to support the Palestinian people’s resistance against the Israeli regime and the struggle to liberate their territories, which have been occupied by the regime for decades.
The International Quds Day is among the legacies of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, who is revered as a spiritual leader by Muslims across the world.
Back in 1979, shortly after leading an Islamic Revolution which toppled the US-backed Shah of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini named the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan the Quds Day.
General Sharif said the motto of this year’s International Quds Day rallies has not been determined yet, noting that it will be decided and introduced in the next session of the headquarters.
He further referred to the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation, carried out by the Palestinian resistance forces in October 2023, and said the world witnessed the resistance of the Palestinian people after that operation.
He underlined that the Muslim Ummah and the freedom-seeking people of the world support the people of Palestine.
He also referred to the recent funeral procession held for former Hezbollah leader Sayed Hassan Nasrallah and said it demonstrated the administrative, organizational and political power of the resistance.
Through that procession, Hezbollah let the world see that the resistance is alive, he went on to say.
