Iranian Qari Sharifi Recites Quran at Iraq’s Al-Ameed Int’l Award

IQNA – Rahim Sharifi from Iran performed his recitation in the second edition of Al-Ameed International Quran Recitation Competition, which is underway in Iraq’s holy city of Karbala

Sharifi is from the city of Ramhormoz in the southwestern province of Khuzestan.  

Born in 1985, he learned Quran recitation from his brother Reza Sharifi. Rahim has won titles in Iran’s Quran competitions.

He is also a member of the Sabtayn Tawasheeh (religious songs) group and has won prizes in different Tawasheeh competitions.

The final round of the second edition of Al-Ameed International Quran Recitation Competition was launched in Karbala with the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

Qaris from 22 countries are taking part in the international Quranic event.

In the first round, interested individuals submitted a video clip of their recitation, to the competition committee and those who had the best performance made it to the finals.

The inaugural edition of the Al-Ameed International Quran Recitation Competition in Ramadan 2024 attracted participants from 21 countries.

It is organized by the Astan of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine with the aim of promoting the Quranic culture.
