Speaking to IQNA on the sidelines of the 32nd edition of the event, Duraković, who is attending for the second time, described the exhibition as a “wonderful opportunity to exchange experiences, connect with fellow artists, and meet new calligraphers from around the world.”

He highlighted the event’s unique atmosphere, held during the sacred month of Ramadan, and commended Iran’s efforts in organizing it.

“What makes this exhibition truly special is that it is held during the sacred month of the Quran,” he said. “It has been an incredible experience to engage with my colleagues from different countries, and we were all pleasantly surprised by the warm and welcoming atmosphere.”

Duraković also emphasized the event’s significance for Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the tradition of Islamic calligraphy has faced challenges.

He noted that Bosnia once had several madrasas dedicated to calligraphy, but these institutions were shut down during the communist era and later conflicts. “The last one closed nearly 80 years ago, and they have not been active since,” he said, expressing his commitment to reviving the art in his country.

He extended his gratitude to the organizers and expressed hope for the exhibition’s continued growth in the years ahead. “Insha’Allah, I hope that in the coming years, this exhibition will grow even larger, filling every part of this venue.”
