The Arab-American Civil Rights League is representing Eyhab Aljabaly, who alleges the incident occurred in March.
According to Aljabaly, the exchange began normally through Facebook Marketplace messages until he mentioned arranging a meetup with his mechanic.
He claims the employee responded with a threatening message, stating she would arrive “strapped with her cousins.” Aljabaly said he then referenced his religion, explaining that his faith prohibits dishonesty in business. He alleges the employee abruptly ended the conversation by saying, “Oh, you’re Muslim? End of conversation.”
After reporting the incident to management, Aljabaly said they initially seemed concerned but later dismissed his complaint. He claims the employee remains employed and that dealership leadership refused to address the situation.

When contacted by FOX 2, the dealership owner, Jeff, denied any discriminatory practices, noting he is also Arab-American. He stated that if Aljabaly provides evidence of the messages, the accused employee would be fired.
Aljabaly said he hopes legal action will prevent similar experiences for others. The lawsuit seeks accountability under civil rights protections against religious discrimination.
