In a statement, the interior ministry of the HTS administration confirmed that it is working to identify the person responsible for producing and distributing the audio. The ministry pledged to bring the individual to justice. It also warned against any actions—whether by individuals or groups—that could threaten national security.
The recording was initially attributed to Marwan Keywan, a member of Syria’s Druze religious community. However, Keywan has publicly denied any involvement.
In a video posted on social media, he said, “The person behind this inciting act is a malicious individual trying to provoke division among Syrians… My voice is completely distinct and can be compared to the fake recording.”
Prominent Druze clerics also issued separate statements condemning the audio clip and rejecting its contents.
