IQNA – Thousands of people took to the streets in Morocco, Yemen and Mauritania on Friday to protest against Israeli crimes in Gaza and Tel Aviv’s blocking of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Rallies were held in different countries on May 2, 2025, to call for an end to Israeli atrocities in Gaza

Moroccans on Friday held demonstrations in support of Gaza for the seventy-fourth consecutive week, calling for the lifting of the siege on Gaza by the Zionist regime and the reopening of all Gaza crossings for humanitarian aid to enter the area, which has been suffering from ongoing genocide for 19 months.

Various cities in Morocco were the scenes of pro-Palestinian rallies, including Tangier, Taza, Casablanca, and Taroudant.

They chanted slogans like “End the Siege”, “Open Border Crossings”, “No to Imposing Hunger on People of Gaza”, and “Moroccans Send Greetings to Proud Gaza”.

They also condemned the United States’ support for the Israeli regime’s crimes.

Yemen was also the scene of rallies in support of Gaza.

Hundreds of thousands attended the demonstrations in 14 province of Yemen on Friday, held at the invitation of Ansarullah leader Abdul Malik Badreddin al-Houthi.

“We are standing in solidarity with Gaza and Palestine against murdered and arrogant powers,” they shouted.

They reiterated the unchanging stance of Yemen regarding the Gaza Strip and Palestine.

In an address to one of the rallies, al-Houthi said that the US’ support for the Israeli occupation regime will not prevent Yemen’s support for the Palestinian people.

He noted that the Yemeni armed forces have carried out a series of strikes on the American enemy, the last of which targeted the Truman aircraft carrier.

People’s protests against what is going in Gaza were also held in Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania.

Before and after Friday prayers, mass demonstrations were organized in the city during which the protesters strongly condemned the ongoing crimes of the Zionist occupiers against civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Protesters demanded the expulsion of ambassadors from pro-Zionist countries and the prevention of all forms of normalization and reconciliation with Israel.

Participants chanted slogans calling for support for Gaza and its brave resistance, and saluted the resilience of its people in the face of the Israeli machine of death and starvation.

Slogans were also raised calling on the Mauritanian government to take a bolder position in support of the Palestinian cause and to sever ties with the Zionist regime and its allies.

The rallies included speeches by a number of community imams and senior politicians who stressed that standing with Gaza is a religious and humanitarian duty.

The Israeli war on Gaza that began on October 7, 2023, has killed more than 52,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured over 170,000 others.
