Senior Iranian Cleric, Iraq’s Ayatollah Sistani Meet in Najaf

IQNA – Iranian source of emulation Grand Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi Amoli and Iraq’s top Shia cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani met in the holy city of Najaf.

The meeting took place on Monday morning during Ayatollah Javadi Amoli’s trip to Iraq to visit the country’s holy cities, Meshkat TV reported.

In this meeting, the two prominent clerics discussed contemporary religious and intellectual issues and developments related to the Islamic Ummah.

Ayatollah Javadi Amoli also visited the holy shrine of Imam Ali (AS), performing Salah and reciting prayers there.

During his stay in Najaf, a number of the city’s top Shia scholars and clerics, including Ayatollahs Iravani, Ayatollah Al Radhi, Ayatollah Jawahiri, and Ayatollah Mohammad Reza Sistani met with Ayatollah Javadi Amoli in his residence.

They welcomed his to Najaf and appreciated his efforts in the fields of Islamic sciences and Quran interpretation.

On Saturday, Ayatollah Javadi Aomli visited the Al-Askari Shrine (holy shrines of Imam Hadi (AS) and Imam Hassan Askari (AS)) in Samarra.
