ICRO Chief Lauds Quranic Activities of Ibn Sina Foundation in Russia

IQNA – The head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization hailed the Quranic research activities of the Ibn Sina Foundation in Russia.

Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour, the head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, visited the Ibn Sina Foundation in Russia on May 14, 2025.

 

During a visit to the foundation on Wednesday, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour stressed that the activities carried out in Russia in the field of Quranic studies and the updating of the website ‘Al-Quran’ in the Russian language, are an important and effective step towards implementing the mandates of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

During the visit, he spoke with the heads of various departments of the foundation and was informed about the activities in the past year and the measures that will be implemented this year.

Hojat-ol-Islam Imanipour praised the foundation’s numerous projects in oral history, documentation, translation and publication of books and the organization of events, especially interactions with Russian scholars and researchers.

Specialized work in all subjects will always find its place among the audience, he said, adding that the foundation’s interest in an effective presence on the up-to-date platforms and the Russian-speaking virtual space, especially on the subject of Quranic sciences, is of great importance and its development will help promote the status of Quranic studies in Russia.

Hamid Hadavi, president of the foundation, expressed appreciation for the idea of establishing the foundation proposed by ICRO and the organization’s support provided at the beginning of its establishment and later,

He explained about the special activities carried out and interactions with Russian institutions, personalities and thinkers during the past years, the foundation’s participation in various Russian cultural events such as book exhibitions and the presentation of books by Sadra publications, the continuous scientific cooperation with universities, scientific centers and educational and research institutions of Iran and Russia and the holding of meetings.

Hadavi referred to the holding of training courses by the foundation and said that the foundation, with the participation of Russian and Iranian teachers, is organizing specialized training courses in related areas, which have been very much appreciated and welcomed by the Russian audience.

The Ibn Sina Foundation has been operating in the Russian Federation since 2007 and was founded by Hojat-ol-Islam Imanipour, who at the time served as the Cultural Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Embassy in Moscow.

The foundation aims to spread Islamology, producing scientific and cultural content and conducting scientific research, holding conferences, teaching, translating, editing and publishing texts in the field of Islam and Muslims in the Russian language.

Hojat-ol-Islam Imanipour has traveled to Russia to take part in a meeting of the culture ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was held on Thursday.

It has been organized concurrent with the Russia-Islamic World: Kazan Forum.

Kazan, the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, has been selected as the 2025 Cultural Capital of the Muslim World.
