Every year millions of Muslims from around the world gather in the Mecca for the annual Hajj.
Iran also sends pilgrims as well as a groups of Quran activists, known as the Noor Quranic Convoy for Hajj.
The members of the delegation hold Quranic programs, including Quran recitation sessions, for the pilgrims in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.
Ahmadivafa is a member of the convoy in this year’s Hajj.
He told IQNA in an interview that raising awareness about the situation in the Gaza Strip and the Israeli oppression of the people of Palestine is a major mission of the Quranic Convoy.
He said that the qaris and memorizers should use verses of the Quran that point to the infidels’ oppression and injustice against believers and the oppressed in order to highlight different aspects of the Israeli regime’s crimes.
Ahmadivafa also pointed to the ritual of disavowal of disbelievers (bar’aat min-al-mushrikeen) that will be held during Hajj and said that through inspirational recitations, the occasion should be used to enhance unity and solidarity among Muslims in the face of the plots hatched by the global arrogance.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he underscored the importance of making the most of the spiritual journey by all pilgrims, especially the members of the convoy.

“I must say that this trip is truly unforgettable, and we should make the most of every moment, as such an opportunity may never come again in our lifetime.”
He urged those members of the convoy who have traveled to the holy sites for the first time that during this journey, on the days spent in Medina and Mecca, each person should complete one full recitation of the Holy Quran in the Prophet’s Mosque and the Grand Mosque, respectively, to benefit from the spiritual blessings as a provision for the continuation of their journey.
|Each of us, the reciters of the convoy, are required participate in official gatherings and events according to the scheduled times and perform Quran recitations. However, this should not lead us to neglect our personal and individual acts of worship,” he went on to say.
