The contest began on Friday and is considered the first such event during the Hajj season.
The competition has been met with widespread enthusiasm from the pilgrims, with more than a thousand pilgrims taking part.
Strengthening the connection of pilgrims with the Quran, spreading the message and teachings of the Holy Book, and providing a Quranic and spiritual educational environment for the guests of the House of God in the Grand Mosque are among the objectives of the competition, according to the organizers.
The Quranic event also seeks to identify and celebrate the pilgrims who are best in reciting and memorizing the Quran and strengthen the influence of the Quran in the spiritual journey (Hajj).
