IQNA – The head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) said the society has established field hospitals in Arafat and Mina near Mecca to provide services to Hajj pilgrims.

The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) provides health and medical services to Hajj pilgrims in Mecca and Medina.

Pir Hossein Koulivand said the IRCS staff have fully equipped the field hospital in Arafat ahead of the Day of Arafah, which falls on Thursday.

God willing, dear pilgrims will start arriving in Arafat this afternoon and health services in the region will start with full capacity, he stated.

In addition to the field hospitals in Arafat and Mina, the IRCS’s hospital in Mecca continues to provide health and medical services to Hajj pilgrims, he noted.

Referring to the formation of an “Emergency Wuquf Caravan” of pilgrims, he said for those pilgrims with specific physical conditions who require additional support, a special caravan has been established to ensure that their Hajj rituals are performed with full backing from medical teams.

All patients hospitalized will be able to carry out their rituals properly and according to religious requirements, with the support of healthcare groups, Koulivand stated.
