9 Daesh Terrorists Hanged in Iran
The media center of Iran’s Judiciary announced the news, noting that they had planned terrorist attacks against the Iranian people in the Iranian calendar year 1996 (2017-2018).
After holding hearings on the case with the presence of the accused and their lawyers, the court sentenced nine members of the group to death, taking into account the contents and documents of the case, the confessions of the accused at all stages of the trial.
They were hanged after the conclusion of the legal process and the approval of the Supreme Court.
In January 2018, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour said his forces had clashed with a terrorist cell affiliated to Daesh in western Iran, arresting 16 militants.
Following several days of intelligence activities, the IRGC Ground Force’s Najaf Ashraf Base mounted an operation against a 21-member terrorist cell in an area west of the country, Brigadier General Pakpour said.

In the operation, the IRGC forces managed to lay siege to the hideout of the militants and arrested 16 members of the terror cell, the commander said.
A number of the terrorists were killed in the clash, he noted, adding that three IRGC forces were martyred in the operation.
