Death Toll in Gaza Rises to Over 56,077 Amid Ongoing Israeli Onslaught

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that the number of fatalities from the occupying regime's ongoing onslaught on the Gaza Strip has risen to 56,077, with 129,880 people injured since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023.

According to the ministry's latest daily update, 144 people were killed in the past 24 hours, including four whose bodies were recovered from beneath rubble, and 560 others were wounded and brought to hospitals.

Many victims are still believed to be trapped under debris or lying in the streets, but ongoing bombardments have prevented emergency crews from reaching them.

Medical sources in Gaza also confirmed that 19 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes early Wednesday across multiple areas of the Strip.

Among the dead were six individuals who had been waiting near aid distribution centers for food packages.

This brings the total number of what health officials are calling “Breadline Martyrs” — people killed while seeking humanitarian aid — to 473, with at least 3,602 others injured in similar criminal attacks.

Since the most recent phase of the Israeli assault began on March 18, 2025, at least 5,334 Palestinians have been killed and 17,839 wounded.

More than 10,000 people are still reported missing and are believed to be trapped under rubble or otherwise unaccounted for across Gaza.
