The Grand Mosque of Paris issued a statement condemning the attack. The body voiced solidarity with “the Muslim worshippers and residents of Roussillon, who have been deeply affected by this assault.”
“An investigation is already underway, and we hope the perpetrators will be identified and brought to justice as swiftly as possible,” it said, calling on “all citizens to take a stand against Islamophobia and all forms of hatred.”
