Hamas and Islamic Jihad said it should also lead to a full Israeli withdrawal from the territory, the reopening of crossings between Israel and Gaza, and the start of reconstruction.
The two groups made the statement after a meeting between their delegations on Sunday.
It comes amid the rising international calls for an end to the Israeli regime’s aggression on the Gaza Strip that has killed nearly 58,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, since October 2023.
On Monday alone, at least 12 people have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since dawn, medical sources told our colleagues on the ground.
One person was killed and several wounded in an Israeli air strike on a water tanker in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.
According to a source at the Baptist Hospital, two people were killed in an attack on the Shujayea neighbourhood east of Gaza City.
A medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital, northern Gaza, said that five Palestinians were killed in an attack on al-Saftawi area.
