Omar Habtoor Al Darei, head of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat and chairman of the Emirates International Holy Quran Award, confirmed that the event comprises five main competitive categories — both local and international — and expects wide public participation.
At the prize’s Abu Dhabi headquarters, Al Darei reviewed preparations for the local branch of the competition, which includes nine sub-divisions. These cover memorization and recitation, involving citizens, residents, seniors, persons with disabilities, domestic workers, Quran teachers, and memorization supervisors.
In a meeting with competition officials, he urged them to intensify efforts and innovate to achieve superior performance.
