The contest was organized under the slogan “Sight of Hearts” with the participation of 120 visually-impaired individuals, Al-Rai reported.
It was aimed at supporting the participation of people with disabilities in Quranic activities and promoting their role in society.
According to Yousef Al-Samiei, chairman of the administrative council of the Mutamayizin Foundation, people with disabilities are important groups in society.
“We always try to support and provide them with opportunities to participate in various activities.”
He added that private education schools, the University of Kuwait, the General Directorate of Applied Education, the Association of the Blind and the Al-Basira Club cooperated in holding the competition.
Al-Samiei stated that the cooperation of these institutions reflects a group effort to provide suitable conditions for the presence of the visually-impaired in society and to demonstrate their capabilities and talents in memorizing the Quran.
He went on to say that 120 people from different age groups participated in this competition.
