Among those winning the top titles in an 82-year-old man, according to Nasser al-Hamad, head of the secretariat.
Speaking at a press conference in Kuwait City, he said 21 men and women won the top prizes, the oldest one of whom is 82 years old.
The total number of finalists in the competition reached 2,900 participants, including 1,330 men and 1,570 women, he stated.
Al-Hamad added that the number of winners in the special needs category was 22, comprising both men and women.
The Quranic Skills Association has won the General Success Award, the Social Reforms Association received the Golden Shield, the Silver Shield was awarded to the Ladies' Association of Beyadar Al-Salam, and the Mabarat Al-Mutamayazeen Association received the Bronze Shield for its contributions to Quranic and religious sciences, he went on to say.

The official also said that the competition demonstrated Kuwait’s progressive status in the region and the world in terms of serving the Holy Book.
