--The final stage of Yemen Quran memorization competition kicked off yesterday, May 4, in the capital Sana’a.
AbdolRahman Ahmad an official with Yemen's Awqaf Ministry told IQNA that 30 Quran memorizers are competing at the event. They are all among the top Quranic figures of the country.
Top winners of the contest will qualify for the international Quran competitions, he noted.
Yahya Alhalili and Abdolsalam Almajidi are among prominent Yemeni reciters who will judge the contest, he noted.
Some 400 individuals participated in the primary stage from which only 30 made it to the final stage.
