“Jashn-e Rahmat” Held in India

-- The Jashn-e-Rehmat celebration to mark Prophet Mohammad (SAW) and Imam Jafar Sadiq's birth anniversary was organized with traditional fervor and gaiety at Chota Imambara in Lucknow on February 21.
According to TCN Special Correspondent, the function besides highlighting the teachings of Prophet Mohammad (SAW) also underlined the social messages for the community.
Addressing the function, Additional Advocate General of the state, Syed Hussain appealed that sermons and teachings delivered in majlis should be inculcated in our practical lives. "We are under attack from all quarters. For this it is our responsibility to portray our religion in such a manner that it is not associated with terrorism," said Hussain. "Even the self proclaimed custodian of human rights should learn from Hazrat Ali's life who never allowed injustice even to his killers," he said.
In his address, Padamshree awardee Dr Mansoor Hasan urged for developing foundational qualities as honesty, respect etc. "Without these qualities the bookish knowledge is of no use. Such qualities should be learnt from the Prophet's teaching," he said.
While speaking on the occasion social activist Suresh Khairnar stated that the Prophet (SAW) first practiced then preached. He also decried the word 'Islamic terrorism' claiming that no community should be forced to live with stigma.
Several others rendered their couplets praising Prophet (SAW). Besides, ADM, Kanpur Syed Shahid Manzar Abbas Rizvi presented his research paper on prophet's life. Others prominent personalities who were present there include former head, Persian Department, Lucknow University (LU), Prof Waliul Haq Ansari, Dr Rehan Hasan Gopalpuri, Maulana Hussain Mustafa Qumaili, Mujeeb Siddiqui, Maulana Manzar Sadiq and Maulana Jabir Jaurasi.
