Addressing a ceremony held to honor selected veteran Quran activists, Seyed Abbas Salehi said that over the past four decades, more than 45,000 books in the field of Quranic sciences and teachings have been published in Iran.
He said there has also been remarkable progress in the field of Quranic arts.
Tens of thousands of Quran memorizers have been trained in the country and in the field of recitation, Iranian Qaris have gained an outstanding place in the Muslim world, the culture minister added.
Salehi also said the cyberspace has provided the opportunity to further expand Quranic activities.
Eighteen Quran activists, including memorizers, reciters, experts, researchers, calligraphers, and managers of Quranic institutes were honored at the ceremony, held in Tehran on Saturday.
President Hassan Rouhani also attended and addressed the event, highlighting the country’s progress in Quranic fields such as recitation.
