He made the remark in a meeting with the ministry’s Quran and Etrat Deputy and other Quranic officials, adding that Quran and mosques have an unbroken bond.

Esmaeili also said the basis of the Quran and Etart Deputy’s activities should be programs aimed at promoting the Holy Quran’s teachings and culture.

He also stressed the need for working to fulfil the Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s demand about training ten million Quran memorizers in the country.

The culture minister described what has been done in this regard so far as insufficient and said fundamental plans should be devised and implemented to achieve this objective.

Earlier at the meeting, Ali Reza Moaf, who is in charge of the ministry’s Quran and Etrat Deputy, highlighted its activities and achievements made over the past year, including the establishment of a Quranic think tank, support for teenage Quranic talents, and pursuing a national plan for establishing Quranic bases in mosques.

He said the Quran and Etrat Deputy has also organized various Quranic festivals, educational events and other programs.
