The closing ceremony was held at King Hussein Bin Talal Mosque with the participation of Jordanian officials, including the country’s king Abdullah II.
Organizers handed awards to 37 Jordanians who had gained top ranks in the national section of the competition and also to nine individuals who won top places in the international section.
The top prize of the international section was awarded to Nadi Saad Jaber Muhammad from Egypt. Muhammad Abdul Khaliq Batil from Canada, Muhammad El Amin Adam Moussa from Chad, Abu Bakr Muhammad Bila Jalo from Kenya, and Ezzeddin Omar Ahmed Ibrahim from Yemen stood next.
The Quranic event’s men section was launched in the Arab country’s capital of Amman on April 11. The women's section had been held back in March.
Some 250 Quran memorizers from Jordan and other countries took in the men section.
The contest was held in different categories of memorization of the Holy Quran, along with observation of the rules of Tajweed.
