TEHRAN (IQNA) – Yaqeen (certainty) is a state of knowledge that is certain and includes no doubts.

Certainty and uncertainty

This state of knowledge is achieved by some people whose actions are based on what they know is true.

One day, after saying the congregational morning prayers, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) saw a young man among the people whose color was yellowish. He seemed weak and had grown bald. The Prophet (PBUH) asked what had happened to him. He said he had achieved Yaqeen.

The Prophet (PBUH) asked him about the signs of Yaqeen. The young man said: “I believe the Day of Judgment so much that I cannot sleep. It is as if I can see hell and its fire on the one hand, and paradise and its blessing on the other hand, as well as the people and the assessment of their deeds, and I can see myself present before God to assess my deeds.

The Prophet (PBUH) accepted his claim. Then the young man asked the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to pray for his martyrdom. The Prophet (PBUH) prayed for him.

After sometime, there was a battle where the young man fought on the path of God and achieved martyrdom.

What should we do to achieve Yaqeen?

The Holy Quran says: “Worship your Lord until you achieve the ultimate certainty.” (Verse 99 of Surah Al-Hijr)
