TEHRAN (IQNA) – Having faith in God has many benefits, one of which is removing apprehension and anxiety.

Having anxiety

Here are some examples of how belief in God helps one to get rid of anxiety.

1- Sometimes anxiety and apprehension originate in the fear about past mistakes and wrongdoings. But repentance and returning to God, the Compassionate and the Merciful, turn this anxiety into peace of mind because God accepts repentance and forgives sinners.

2- Sometimes anxiety is rooted in a feeling of loneliness. But belief in God removes this as one knows that God is always with him, sees him, hears him, and is kind to him.

3- Sometimes anxiety is rooted in one’s weakness but faith in the infinite power of God and Tawakkul (putting one’s trust in God) removes this cause of anxiety.

4- Sometimes anxiety is rooted in lack of a purpose and feeling absurd. But faith in God, the All-Wise who has created everything in this world for a purpose removes this cause of apprehension.

5- Sometimes anxiety is because one has failed to make everyone happy and appease all around him. But when, as a result of faith in God, he realizes that he should only please God, and that dignity is in His hands, this cause of apprehension will no longer exist.

6- Sometimes other people’s conducts and moves make one anxious. But faith in God and His promises about the victory of the truth over falsehood remove this cause of anxiety.

7- And sometimes being mocked and teased by others causes anxiety but faith in God will remove this cause of apprehension as God says: “We suffice you against those who mock.” (Verse 95 of Surah Al-Hijr)

If we read in the Quran that “Remembrance of God certainly brings comfort to all hearts,” (Verse 28 of Surah Ar-Raad), it is the truth.
