IQNA – The Israeli regime has unleashed more than 65,000 tons of missiles and bombs on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, killing at least 22,438 people, mostly women and children, according to a report by Gaza's Government Media Office (GMO).

The report, released on Thursday, said that Israeli warplanes dropped over 45,000 missiles and huge bombs, some weighing up to 2,000 pounds, on the densely populated coastal enclave, deliberately targeting whole residential areas.

"The amount of explosives dropped by the Israeli army on the Gaza Strip surpassed 65,000 tons, which is more than the weight and power of three atomic bombs like those dropped by the US on the Japanese city of Hiroshima in 1945," the report added.

The GMO also said that "two-thirds of the bombs and missiles are unguided and inaccurate, known as dumb bombs." It said that the use of such bombs showed Israel's intentional, random, and unwarranted attacks on civilians.

The report documented the regime's use of around nine kinds of projectiles that are banned internationally against civilians.

The occupation regime launched the war on Gaza in response to an operation by its resistance movements. However, despite bombing Gaza with the massive amount of explosives, Israel has failed to achieve any of its declared objectives, such as forcing the population to flee to neighboring countries or destroying the Gaza-based resistance group Hamas.
