IQNA – Israeli forces conducted an airstrike on a school housing displaced Palestinians in Shejaiya, Gaza City, killing at least 15 people and leaving dozens injuried.

“The Israeli occupation forces targeted the Dalal al-Maghribi School, which was housing displaced people, with three missiles, completely destroying it,” said Gaza Civil Defense spokesperson Mamdouh Basal in a video message on Thursday.

The airstrikes killed at least 15 people, including two children, and injured 40 others.

The Israeli military acknowledged the strike, claiming the school was being used as a hideout by Hamas resistance fighters.

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas condemned the attack as “a new massacre to be added to a long series of massacres” committed by the Israeli military.

The group called on Arab and Muslim nations, as well as people worldwide, to “escalate the angry public activities and to put pressure to stop the genocidal war.”

Hamas also urged the UN, international courts, and all relevant parties to “take serious and strong action to stop the crimes committed by the war criminal [Benjamin] Netanyahu and his terrorist army” and not to remain silent amid the ongoing massacres.

Despite international condemnation and a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the Israeli regime continues its strikes on the besieged Gaza Strip.

The regime unleashed the onslaught on October 7 after Palestinian resistance forces in the strip launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood in response to increased Israeli violence and crimes against Palestinians.

Ten months since the start of the war, the Israeli aggression has killed at least 39,480 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 91,128 others.
