IQNA – A company based in Saudi Arabia, Al Zamazemah, has announced its intention to distribute over 40 million bottles of Zamzam water for the forthcoming Hajj pilgrimage season.

Yasser Shushu, a board member of the company, stated that each pilgrim is allocated 22 bottles for the Hajj next month. The company has also established digital channels for direct interaction with the pilgrims.

The company’s strategy includes a barcode service on the bottles, which aids in the ordering and delivery of the water packs, adhering to the highest digital transformation standards, Saudi news agency SPA reported.

In anticipation of the Hajj season, Al Zamazemah says it has initiated several training courses and workshops aimed at enhancing the managerial and operational effectiveness of its services for pilgrims.

Zamzam water is highly sought after by international pilgrims, who often gift it to friends and family upon their return home.

The first groups of pilgrims have begun arriving in Saudi Arabia from various countries, leading up to the Hajj, which is projected to start this year on June 14, subject to the sighting of the new moon.

The upcoming Hajj is expected to attract more than 2 million Muslims worldwide.

Saudi agencies involved in Hajj preparations are predicting a record number of pilgrims, following the participation of approximately 30 million Muslims in the Umrah, or minor pilgrimage, at the Grand Mosque, Islam’s most sacred site, in Mecca during the Islamic month of Ramadan, which concluded on April 9.

Last year, around 1.8 million Muslims worldwide participated in the Hajj, returning their numbers to pre-pandemic levels. Muslims who are physically and financially capable are required to perform Hajj at least once in their lifetime.
