Iran’s Cultural Center in the Southeast Asian country will organize the event on Wednesday, June 5, as part of programs marking the demise anniversary of Imam Khomeini (RA), Iran’s Cultural Attaché Habib Reza Arzani said.
He referred to the profound ideas of the late founder of the Islamic Republic about the issue of Palestine and said part of the conference will feature Imam Khomeini’s thoughts on defending Palestine.
Head of the Institute for Compilation and Publication of Imam Khomeini’s Works Dr Ali Kamsari will be the special speaker at the conference, he stated.
Other speakers will include Chairman of the World Mosque Alliance Datuk Seri Sheikh Ahmad Awang, President of Sejagat Malaysia Syed Sheikh Al Attas, and Malaysian Islamic Organizations Consultative Council (Mapim) President Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid, he went on to say.
Iran’s Ambassador to Malaysia and the ambassadors of other Muslim countries will also be attending the conference, he said.
Arzani noted that the Imam Khomeini (RA) International Award in Southeast Asia will also be unveiled at the event.

Born in 1902, he grew to become the iconic leader of the Iranian nation’s struggle in the 1970s against the centuries-old monarchical tyranny.
Imam Khomeini passed away on June 3, 1989, at the age of 87.
