Al-Azhar to Launch Quran Contest for Expatriate Students

IQNA – The Al-Azhar Islamic University plans to organize an international Quran competition for students from different countries residing in Egypt.

 

The university’s center for expatriate students’ education is going to hold the contest, Al-Ahram reported. 

Slated for the last quarter of 2024, the competition, dubbed “Talents and Capabilities”, will feature 16 categories.

They include Quran memorization and recitation as well as Islamic arts, Ibtihal, Islamic literature, Islamic culture and calligraphy.

It is aimed at enhancing the skills and creative Quranic ideas of the expatriate students.

The top ten students in each category will be awarded cash prizes and certificates of honor at the closing ceremony.

Those who have attended and won awards in previous competitions organized by Al-Azhar will not be allowed to take part in this contest.

Al-Azhar is the largest Islamic center of education and a university associated with Al-Azhar Mosque.
