Quran Memorizers Awarded Medals in Maldives

IQNA – Twenty-eight individuals who have memorized the Quran and achieved the title of Hafiz were awarded medals and prizes in a ceremony in Maldives.

President of Maldives Mohamed Muizzu awarded them to the memorizers on Saturday, October 5.

It commemorating the day Maldives embraced Islam.

The Hafizs who were presented awards today are those who memorized the Quran between October 2022 and September 1, 2024.

There were both male and female Quran memorizers among the recipients of the medals and prizes.  

The Maldives, officially the Republic of Maldives, is a small island nation in South Asia, situated in the Arabian Sea of the Indian Ocean.

Islam is the state religion of Maldives, and adherence to it is legally required for citizens.
