Iran Quran Contest: Arbiters in Nat’l Stage Named

IQNA – Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization named the Quran experts serving in the panels of arbiters of the national stage of the country’s 47th National Quran Competition.

There are two panels evaluating the performances of the contenders in different categories in the men and women sections. 

The evaluation process started at the organization’s headquarters in Tehran on Tuesday morning.

The members of the two panels watch the prerecorded video files of the performances and score them based on certain criteria.

Those scoring the highest points will qualify for the final round, which is slated for December in the northwestern city of Tabriz.

Mehdi Abbasi, Gholam Reza Shahmiveh, Hassan Mokhtari, Mohammad Javad Panahi, Seyed Abbas Anjam, Mohammad Reza Solhju and Seyed Ahmad Moqimi are among the members of the panel in the men section.

Those in the women section include Maryam Adelnia, Samaneh Kouchaki, Fatemeh Shirazi, Houriyeh Oqbaei, Fahimeh Izadi and Hajar Ezzatpajouh.

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s National Quran Competition is annually held by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization with the participation of top Quran activists from across the country.

It is aimed at discovering Quranic talents and promoting Quranic activities in society.

The top winners of the competition will represent Iran in the international Quran competitions across the world.

This year’s competition is held in commemoration of the “Martyrs of Service”, namely former President Ebrahim Raisi and his companions who were killed in a helicopter crash in May.
