This is according to the Ras Al Khaimah Foundation for The Holy Quran & ITS Sciences, which organizes the event, al-Watan reported.
The foundation said 2,520 men and women have so far registered their names for the contest.
They include 1,114 from the emirate of Ras Al Khaima, and the rest are from other parts of the UAE as well as expatriates living in the country, it noted.
Sheikh Saqr bin Khalid bin Hamid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Administrative Council of the foundation, stated that the large number of participants reflects the UAE government's support for both citizens and expatriates residing in the country, as well as its commitment to Quran competitions.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Ibrahim Sabian Al-Tunaji, the chairman of the higher committee for organizing the competitions, said that this year, the Ras Al Khaimah Quran Award includes several categories, such as Quran memorization, recitation, and Hadiths.
Al-Tunji said the preliminary stage of the competition will begin on December 23, 2024 and wished success to the participants.
