IQNA – President Masoud Pezeshkian held a meeting with a number of Iranian Christians on Tuesday evening.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a meeting with a number of Iranian Christians on December 24, 2024.

He congratulated all Christians around the world on Christmas and hoped for peace, security and kindness for people around the world.

The president, referring to the teachings of the Holy Quran which state that there is no distinction among the divine prophets, emphasized that “we submit to what all the prophets called for”.

He added that “this is a belief that God has revealed to us in the Quran, and we hold that there is no difference in the fundamental beliefs between our religion and yours.”

Pezeshkian further elaborated on the philosophy of sending prophets, stating that the Quran says all people were once united, and God sent the prophets to bring good news and provide guidance.

God gave them scriptures to work based on justice in society and to adjudicate disputes, he noted.

The Iranian president referred to the dialogue between Jesus (AS) and Jews in the Holy Quran, noting that Jesus states that “God is both our God and your God, and we should worship the same God.”

He said people must all follow this path, adding that if everyone pursues it and embraces truth, fairness, and justice, what differences could people possibly have with one another?

Pezeshkian emphasized that all conflicts stem from individual egos, stating: “We are all from one nation, one tribe, and one race. God says that language, gender, and region make no difference; superiority belongs to those who are more virtuous, more truthful, and kinder. Whoever is kinder and more righteous is superior, and whoever is more just and virtuous has the right on their side.”
