The Dar-ol-Quran Center affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine hosted the meeting, which was attended by representatives from Quran centers in Shia and Sunni Awqaf departments.
It aimed to formulate plans to standardize judgment criteria and regulations for national and international Quran contests.
Sheikh Khairuddin Ali al-Hadi, head of the Dar-ol-Quran Center, presented suggestions aimed at strengthening the judging criteria for Quranic competitions and ensuring their accuracy and comprehensiveness.
Wassam Nadhir al-Dalfi, head of the Quranic information dissemination center, hailed the meeting as a sign of the Astan’s measures to unify efforts for serving Quranic issues and enhance Iraq’s status in international Quranic arenas.
He added that the collaboration among Quranic institutions in Iraq is a pioneering step toward enhancing the country’s position as a global center for the Holy Quran.
It contributes to achieving a comprehensive vision in this area, reflecting the depth of Iraq’s Quranic heritage and ensuring it is recognized more internationally, he stated.
Quranic activities have significantly developed in Iraq since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein.
