Iranian Friday Prayer Worshippers to Commemorate Nasrallah

IQNA – Ceremonies will be held in cities across Iran during Friday prayers to commemorate Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, a spokesman said.

Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Nouri, the spokesman for the Friday Prayer Leaders Policy-Making Council, noted that the funeral procession for the former secretary general of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement is slated be held in the Arab country on February 23.

He said that ceremonies to commemorate Nasrallah will be organized in Friday prayer venues across Iran tomorrow.

According to the planned schedule, on Sunday, February 23, after the Maghrib and Isha prayers, a special series of events including speeches, Quran recitations, and the Laylat al-Dafn (night of funeral) prayer will be held in Friday prayer venues and major mosques across the country, he added.

It will bring together interested members of the public, devout individuals, and regular mosque-goers, he stated.

Hezbollah is going to hold a funeral for Nasrallah and head of its Executive Council, Sayed Hashem Safieddine, on February 23.

Nasrallah was assassinated in a massive Israeli airstrike in Beirut in September 2024. Safieddine too was killed in an Israeli attack in October.
