Tanzania Hosts 33rd International Quran Competition with Global Participation

IQNA – The 33rd Tanzania International Quran Competition began yesterday in the African country, featuring representatives from 25 countries.

 

This year's competition features 25 contestants hailing from 25 different countries, spanning various continents. The participating countries include Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Libya, Senegal, Canada, Kuwait, Sudan, Nigeria, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Yemen, Ivory Coast, Russia, Somalia, Ethiopia, Malaysia, Jordan, Kenya, the United Kingdom, the United States, Ghana, Egypt, Qatar, Algeria, and Uganda.

From these contestants, 10 will advance to the finals.

The event has been organized by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs through the Charitable Society for Memorizing the Holy Quran in the Republic of Tanzania.

The competition is conducted with the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance.

Tanzania, located in East Africa, is known for its diverse culture and history. The country has a significant Muslim population, particularly along the coastal regions and Zanzibar.
