22 Countries Partaking in 2nd Al-Ameed Int’l Quran Recitation Award

IQNA – The final round of the second edition of Al-Ameed International Quran Recitation Competition was launched in Iraq’s holy city of Karbala with the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

A contender in the second edition of Al-Ameed International Quran Recitation Competition in Karbala, Iraq (Ramadan 2025).

 

Qaris from 22 countries are taking part in the international Quranic event, Al-Kafeel reported. 

According to Ala al-Mousawi, deputy head of the Scientific Quran Assembly of the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine, there are ten qaris competing in the youth section and 30 in the adults section.

Iran, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Malaysia, South Africa, India, and Egypt are among the participating countries.

Al-Mousawi said the International Competitions Committee supervises the contest according to global standards.

In the first round, interested individuals submitted a video clip of their recitation, to the competition committee and those who had the best performance made it to the finals.

The inaugural edition of the Al-Ameed International Quran Recitation Competition in Ramadan 2024 attracted participants from 21 countries.
