Ali Muhammad Al-Sallabi said the leaders of Arab and Muslim countries should fulfil their historic responsibility of supporting the cause of Palestine.
He condemned the United States’ continued support for the Israeli regime and described it as partnership in crimes being committed against the Palestinian people.
This support is a kind of political unilateralism that seeks to cover up the genocidal crimes committed by the occupiers against defenseless people of the Gaza Strip, he stated.
Al-Sallabi said that given the support for the Zionist regime by major powers, it is incumbent upon Arab and Muslim nations and freedom-loving people of the world to save the Palestinians.
He called for immediate international efforts to stop the genocidal war that has targeted the people of Palestine.
He said supporting the oppressed and defending their rights is a religious and human responsibility, stressing the need for integrating Arab, Muslim and international efforts to end the Israeli aggressions on Palestinian people.
He further said that today’s world is witnessing a shift in the balance of international power, as some countries, including Ukraine, Canada, China, and several European nations, have expressed opposition to US foreign policies.
Arab and Muslim countries should establish new international strategic alliances in order to take advantage of this shift in global positions, the IUMS chief went on to say.
