In a statement on Wednesday, Al-Azhar warned that the international community’s neglect in helping the oppressed would lead to global chaos and the destruction of the foundations of justice.
It called on religious institutions in the world to end their silence on the plights of Palestinians and strive to defend their rights.
Raising one’s voice on this matter is a significant responsibility before God and history, it said, adding that what is happening against the people of Palestine might return the world to an era of oppression and tyranny.
The Egyptian Islamic center reiterated its rejection of any attempt at forcible relocation of Palestinians and underlined the legitimate right of the Palestinian nation to live in their land and establish an independent Palestinian state with the holy city of al-Quds as its capital.

It also hailed the stance of Arab countries on the need to reconstruct the Gaza Strip without forcing its people to leave the enclave.
Elsewhere in the statement, Al-Azhar called for pressure on the Israeli regime to implement the Gaza ceasefire deal and end its aggressions on the people of Gaza.
